Service Description

OUR APPROACH During our work, you will discover how your body and mind are responding to this challenging experience of living with persistent pain in your day-to-day life. We will work on those contributing factors that might make the pain worse, and, at the end of our sessions, you will be able to experience more easiness within your body and more tolerable symptoms. ​During the Physiotherapy sessions, we will use many different body techniques, such as mindful movements (from the Yoga tradition), breath-work, stretches, and simple exercises. We will do this very gently. We will go through some educational explanations on how our nervous system works and its connections with pain and the “stress response”. You will slowly learn how to notice your body signals (not just pain), ways to self-regulate and concepts like activity pacing and goal setting, in order to gradually move towards goals that are important to you. ​The psychological approach of the programme will be adapted to your specific needs and the psychological challenges you have faced since your pain started. As a psychologist, different modalities will be combined using Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), with the main goal for you to adapt to your pain, rediscover your meaning and build a better version of yourself while pain is not stopping you from living the life that you deserved.  ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH US - We are both trained and highly experienced in working with people with various chronic pain-related conditions. - We use both the same models and treatment framework (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness). Valentina is also a knowledgeable healthcare professional in Highly Sensitive People and trauma-sensitive body practices. In her work, Margarita combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with another model well used in Pain Management called Compassion-Focused Therapy. - You will choose the pace you want; sessions can be scheduled once a week or every 2-3 weeks as we can be flexible in this journey. - You will get audios of mindfulness practices, resources (e.g. slides, links to YouTube videos), and if you choose the Basic Package, we will be in touch via email once a week to check your progress and answer all your questions.
